Interviewing Richard Armitage

One of the lovely things about being an author is the people you meet – not only readers but writers too. Even when you find yourself a little bit starstruck… as I did recently when I met multi-award-winning stage and screen actor, Richard Armitage.

Richard narrated the audio version of my book The Curfew but I’d never actually met him, so it was a great honour to be asked to interview him in Sheffield as part of the Off The Shelf book festival. He was talking about his new thriller, Geneva, and was as charming as you’d expect but also very witty, thoughtful about his new venture into fiction-writing and full of great stories from a long acting career in TV and film.

Geneva by Richard Armitage

If more of my books are adapted for the screen in the future, it would be a dream to see him in the cast! Who knows… perhaps one day (fingers crossed).

On the subject of TV adaptations, I’ve had some exciting news on another of my books: 29 Seconds has been optioned for the screen by Big Light Productions. This company has created major shows including The Man In The High Castle, and I can’t wait to see how the project develops.

It’s also been great to see The Mother spending all of October inside the top 50 in the Kindle chart, and the last week or so inside the top 20. It’s still 99p, but only until the end of the month. A big thank you to everyone who bought the paperback from Amazon on Prime Day, when it jumped into the top 75.

I’m very pleased to have completed the main edit on next year’s book, The Dream Home, and it’s really taking shape – coming February 29th 2024 and available to pre-order now. I’m very excited for this book and can’t wait to tell you more about it!
